Khaberni - Said the head of the Bani Obaid Municipal Committee, engineer Manar Al-Radaydeh, that the municipal staff dealt immediately and urgently with the blockage of one of the stormwater drainage culverts located on the Irbid/Amman road, specifically in the "Al-Hisn Street" area, which led to a rise in the water level and accumulation in the area.
She added that field trips revealed that the blockage was caused by the drift of construction debris from a contractor's work in the area, which was carried by the heavy rains into the culvert, completely closing it and obstructing the water flow, which caused a partial flood on the main street.
She pointed out that the municipality mobilized its machinery and staff immediately, securing a "backhoe" to start clearing the culvert of construction obstacles, confirming that the work continued until the water flow was completely restored and traffic safety on this vital route was ensured.
Al-Radaydeh confirmed that the municipality will not tolerate any practices that damage the infrastructure or pose a danger to citizens, noting that the contractor responsible will be referred to the administrative governor to take stern legal action against him, and he will bear the cost of damage and the technical measures taken by the municipality.
