After the Jordan Food and Drug Administration officially obtained membership in the Pharmaceutical Inspection Cooperation (PIC/S) as of early January 2026.
The Director General of the Jordan Food and Drug Administration, Professor Dr. Rana Obeidat, pointed out that this achievement is a true translation of the royal visions to develop the pharmaceutical industry and enhance its global competitiveness, and is a culmination of the administration's continuous efforts to develop regulatory systems and align them with the highest international standards.
She explained that the administration is the second regional and the fifty-seventh global regulatory authority to gain membership in this prestigious international organization, after meeting all the necessary requirements and standards for joining and receiving approval from the member states during the organization's meeting held in Hong Kong, China on 11/04/2025.
Obeidat confirmed that this membership demonstrates the competence of Jordanian regulatory performance and the international community's trust in it, thereby establishing the administration as a recognized reference in pharmaceutical inspection, and directly contributing to the facilitation of the flow and export of Jordanian medicines to global markets.
