Iranian TV Comments on Protests Agents for America and Israel Ignited the Fires

Khaberni - Today, Friday, the Iranian state television broke its silence about the overnight protests sweeping the country, reporting that there were casualties and confirming that "terrorist agents" affiliated with the United States and Israel had started fires and stirred violence.

The brief report, which was part of the 8 AM news bulletin on state television, was the first official news about the demonstrations.

The report mentioned that the protests were violent and resulted in casualties, but did not provide details.

It also stated that the protests saw "arson attacks on private cars, motorcycles, and public places like metros, fire trucks, and buses."

Despite the internet and international phone call blackouts, Iranian protesters chanted and marched in the streets until this morning, Friday.

Short video clips shared online by activists, presumably protesters, showed them chanting against the Iranian government near blazing fires, while debris was scattered through the streets of Tehran and other areas.

This comes as US President Donald Trump acknowledged that the United States could deliver a "strong blow" to the Iranian leadership if deemed necessary.

Trump stated in an interview with "Fox News," responding to a question about whether Washington was prepared to use force in case protesters in Iran were killed: "I said that if they do something bad to these people (the Iranians), we will hit them hard. I made that clear very clearly."
