Khaberni - The Secretary-General for Technical Affairs at the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, Jamal Qutaishat, announced the activation of the ministry's intermediate emergency plan, starting from Friday morning until Saturday evening, based on the weather reports issued by the Meteorological Department.
Qutaishat explained that the decision was made in light of the Kingdom being affected by a weather depression accompanied by rainfall and a high possibility of flash floods in several areas, indicating that the emergency plan could be escalated to maximum levels based on the field directors of public works’ estimations and in accordance with the weather developments.
Qutaishat noted that the field teams would perform regular inspections of the roads, culverts, and water channels, and take necessary measures to ensure public safety and the continuity of traffic flow, affirming that immediate action would be taken in response to incoming reports, observations, and emergencies detected according to approved standards and operational emergency plans.
