The Bloc of the Union of Centrist and National Islamic Parties The Jordan and European Union Summit Represents a Transition in

Khaberni - The Bloc of the Union of Centrist and National Islamic Parties asserts that the summit between Jordan and the European Union, which took place in the capital Amman, represents a practical transition in the nature of the relationship between the two sides, moving from a framework of cooperation and support to a framework of advanced political and economic partnership, reflecting Jordan’s position as a reliable partner in regional stability and development path.

The bloc’s chairman, MP Zuhair Muhammad Al-Khashman, said that holding the summit in Amman confirms that Jordan has become a pivotal point in the European Union’s approach to the region, whether in political, economic, or security files, and that the Kingdom is being managed today as a state capable of combining internal stability with effective engagement in regional and international issues.

Al-Khashman explained that the importance of the summit lies in its content rather than its form, as it focused on enhancing economic partnership, expanding investment horizons, supporting development paths, and cooperating in specific sectors that form the backbone of the future economy, prominently including energy, water, education, and digital transformation - sectors where Jordanian national needs intersect with European Union priorities.

He added that the summit confirmed a clear European commitment to continue supporting Jordan, not just as a recipient of aid, but as a partner bearing major regional roles, requiring a long-term partnership based on economic sustainability, capacity building, boosting productivity, and creating an attractive environment for investment.

Al-Khashman indicated that the Jordanian-European relationship has reached a level of maturity that allows transitioning to joint projects with a direct impact, especially in the areas of employment, skill development, supporting the green economy, and enhancing trade integration, thus reflecting on economic growth and improving the quality of life for citizens.

The bloc affirmed that this summit enhances Jordan’s position as an influential country in its surroundings, capable of shaping balanced partnerships that respect national sovereignty and serve mutual interests, and forming an important pillar in the path of empowering the national economy and strengthening its resilience against regional and international challenges.

The bloc concluded its statement by reaffirming that Jordan, with its Hashemite leadership and balanced political approach, is continuing to build its international relations on the basis of partnership and mutual reliance, and that the Amman summit with the European Union represents an advanced step in this path, serving the Jordanian state and enhancing its political and economic presence.
