The government Karak and Tafilah are among the most affected areas by the expected depression

Khaberni - The Ministry of Local Administration directed the municipalities, joint services councils, and the municipal affairs directorates to raise their readiness to the highest levels, in order to deal with the expected weather depression that will affect the kingdom starting tomorrow morning, Friday, within the framework of proactive measures to ensure public safety.

The ministry, municipalities, and service councils reviewed the detailed reports issued by the Meteorological Department and the early warning maps that indicate the expected danger levels in some areas.

According to the early warning maps, some municipalities in the provinces of Karak and Tafilah will experience very high danger levels (dark red), including the major municipalities of Karak, Ai, Mutah, and Mazar.

Municipalities in the provinces of Irbid, Ajloun, Jerash, the capital Amman, Madaba, Balqa, Karak, and Tafilah are also classified within areas of high risk (red level).

Meanwhile, the maps predict moderate danger levels in the municipalities of the provinces of Aqaba, Mafraq, and Zarqa, in addition to some municipalities in the province of Ma'an and some municipalities in the south of the capital Amman.

The ministry instructed the heads of municipal committees, heads of joint services councils, and directors of municipal affairs, to monitor these sites in the field, to ensure the readiness of valleys, storm drains, culverts, and rainwater drains, to ensure fluid water flow and avoid sudden flood formation.

The ministry directed the heads of committees, heads of councils, and directors, to personally oversee the preparations and open emergency rooms around the clock, coordinating with the relevant authorities including administrative governors, civil defense, and the Ministry of Public Works, to ensure the protection of citizens' lives and property.

The ministry emphasized that any negligence in implementing the required measures or monitoring dangerous sites will expose the offenders to accountability.

The ministry called on citizens, especially in the mentioned areas, to exercise extreme caution, stay away from valleys and water gathering areas, and adhere to the official instructions announced.
