Social Security Increase in Number of Subscribers Indicates Recovery of Some Economic Sectors

Khaberni  - The General Director of the Social Security Corporation, Jadalallah Khlaileh, said that the increase in the number of insured under the social security umbrella during the year 2025 is due to a package of economic reasons that stimulate job creation and economic growth.

Khlaileh added to "Al-Mamlaka" channel, on Thursday, that the pathways of the economic reform vision, opening up investments, economic stimulating decisions, and national employment programs, along with the recovery of some economic sectors, have led to an increase in the number of insured, especially since 183,000 subscribers were included for the first time.

The corporation announced on Wednesday that the number of new and re-included persons under the social security umbrella in 2025 reached about 363,000 insured.

The corporation stated in a statement that the number of first-time subscribers to social security in 2025 reached about 183,000 insured, of which 7,000 were optionally covered or included under the free inclusion, of the total first-time insured.

It explained that the number of those re-included under its umbrella in 2025 reached about 180,000 insured, of which about 107,798 insured were Jordanians, representing 59% of the total first-time included.

It pointed out that the number of insured working in the private sector has risen to about 876,233 by the end of 2025 compared to 841,339 insured at the end of 2024, an increase of 4%.

The corporation affirmed that expanding the social protection umbrella is one of its main pillars in the economic and administrative reform vision as it is an effective tool for enhancing job stability and social support, promoting sustainable economic growth, and improving the work environment, clarifying that this was clearly reflected in the broadening of the insurance coverage base.

In the same context, the corporation confirmed that the government's continued implementation of economic stimulating decisions will contribute to enhancing its financial stability.
