Khaberni - The joint statement from the first summit of Jordan and the European Union held in Amman confirmed the decision to launch the first Jordanian-European Dialogue Forum for Security and Defense in Amman starting in 2026.
The statement highlighted the importance of enhancing European support for the Jordanian Armed Forces – the Arab Army, within the European Peace Facility and the mechanism of dealing with Jordan in accordance with the European Union’s common security and defense policy.
On Thursday in Amman, King Abdullah II hosted the first summit between Jordan and the European Union, with European Council President Antonio Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
