Khaberni - The Parliamentary Finance Committee, during a meeting held today, Thursday, chaired by MP Dr. Nimer Al-Salihat, discussed the State Audit Bureau's clarifications included in its report for the year 2024, related to the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority.
Al-Salihat, in the presence of the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, Karima Al-Dabbat, and the Director of Reports at the State Audit Bureau, Fawzan Al-Warikat, emphasized that the discussion of the State Audit Bureau's reports is part of the supervisory role of the House of Representatives, its commitment to enhancing principles of transparency and accountability, and ensuring the integrity of financial and administrative procedures in various official institutions.
He said that the committee discussed all the clarifications contained in the report, indicating that it will continue to study the supervisory outputs of the State Audit Bureau's report for the year 2024.
He also referred to discussing the State Audit Bureau's observation related to the final account of 2024, which includes conducting a transfer without issuing disbursement after the transfer.
In their turn, the committee members called for enhancing cooperation between the State Audit Bureau and the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority to address the clarifications in the report, emphasizing the importance of the role played by the State Audit Bureau in monitoring the financial and administrative performance of government institutions.
For his part, the representative of the State Audit Bureau reviewed the main observations in the report, explaining the nature of procedural and financial violations and observations.
Meanwhile, representatives of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority provided explanations and responses regarding those observations.
