College of Arts at AlZaytoonah University of Jordan Announces Results of the English Reading and Writing Competitions

Khaberni - The College of Arts at Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan organized a ceremony to announce the results of the English reading and writing competitions, with widespread participation from students from various faculties of the university, in the framework of the college's efforts to develop language and literary skills among the students, and to enhance their abilities in the fields of analytical reading and creative and academic writing, attended by the Dean of the College, Dr. Musa Al-Zghoul, Dean of the Faculty of Law Dr. Ali Jabrah Al-Abadi, and the Head of the English Department Dr. Rola Abu Al-Rub, the competition organizer Dr. Maha Al-Qadi, and a number of faculty members and students. 

The competitions aim to encourage students' engagement in conscious reading, hone their writing skills in various forms of English, alongside discovering and supporting outstanding talents, and enhancing the culture of creativity and critical thinking in the university environment.

The results of the English reading competition led to the victory of the student Razan Al-Shawabkeh from the College of Nursing in the first place, followed by the student Mousa Rasmi from the College of Arts – Translation specialty in second place, while the student Raghd Yasser from the College of Sciences – Computer Science specialty won third place.

As for the English writing competition, the results were divided into several categories; the poetry category saw the victory of the student Rama Badr from the College of Arts – Applied English Language specialty. In the essay writing category, the student Marah Jalal from the College of Arts – English Language/Translation specialty won first place, followed by the student Rasha Mohammed from the College of Arts – English Language/Literature specialty in second place, and student Mohammed Nidal from the College of Arts – English Language/Translation specialty in third place.

In the short story category, the student Tamara Saadia from the College of Arts – English Language/Translation specialty took first place, followed by the student Malak Raghed from the College of Science in second place, while the student Mahmoud Salem from the College of Arts – Translation specialty won third place.

At the conclusion of the event, the Dean of the College of Arts, Dr. Musa Al-Zghoul, congratulated the winning students on their distinction and creativity, reiterating his commitment to continue organizing such purposeful competitions that contribute to the enhancement of the students' linguistic and cultural levels, and strengthen the presence of the English language as a tool of knowledge and creativity in the academic journey.
