Khaberni - The Minister of Interior, Mazen Al-Faraya, announced new procedures regarding the facilitation of foreigners' residency in the Kingdom, in a way that contributes to boosting the national economy.
Al-Faraya clarified that these measures include approving temporary residency for foreigners entering the Kingdom through border centers for three months instead of one month, except for those entering through a work visa.
He affirmed that these measures will maintain the current visa procedure, allowing foreign travelers entering the Kingdom to document their temporary stay on their passport for three months directly at the border center, simplifying entrance and residency procedures for foreigners in the Kingdom.
Al-Faraya explained that these measures are part of the Ministry of Interior's efforts to enhance the national economy through stimulative decisions aimed at increasing the number of travelers coming to the Kingdom for various purposes.
They also contribute to supporting the tourism and medical tourism sectors, by encouraging tourists and patients to come to the Kingdom for longer periods and receive treatment in Jordanian hospitals, boosting the tourist and health economy.
Furthermore, the Minister of Interior added that these measures also aim to attract more investments to the Kingdom by providing opportunities for investors to explore various investment prospects and study them thoroughly, thereby enhancing investment rates in the Kingdom.
It is noted that before the issuance of these measures, foreigners entering the Kingdom were granted a temporary stay of one month at the border center, and if they wished to extend their stay, they had to visit the nearest security center to extend their stay for two additional months. It should also be noted that the new procedures comply with the provisions of the Residence and Foreign Affairs Law No. (24) of 1973 and its amendments.
