Khaberni - The Lebanese army announced on Thursday that its plan aimed at monopolizing weaponry in the hands of the state has entered an advanced stage, after effectively and tangibly achieving the goals of the first phase on the ground.
The army explained in a statement that the first phase focused on establishing control over the territories that have come under the authority of the army in the South Litani sector, except for the lands and sites that are still under Israeli occupation.
The statement noted that work in this sector is still ongoing, until the completion of dealing with unexploded ordnance and tunnels, to ensure the establishment of control and the enhancement of stability in the region.
