Egypt Arrest of a person who impersonated his twin brother a doctor for two years without being discovered

Khaberni - In an exciting incident resembling a movie scenario, an Egyptian young man with a Bachelor of Science was caught working as a doctor in a health unit in one of the villages of Beheira Governorate, instead of his twin brother.

The strong resemblance between the "twins" helped them to conceal the secret and avoid detection for two full years during which the young man, who did not have a medical degree, acted as a doctor to give his brother the chance to take up another high-paying job.

The exciting incident unfolded inside the family medicine unit in "Geziret Nakla" village in Beheira Governorate, and their secret was exposed after a nurse working in the same unit filed a report to the police station, stating that she discovered that the person who had been acting as the unit's doctor and signing medical examinations for the locals for two years, was not the actual doctor, but his twin brother who had a Bachelor of Science.

The security forces immediately moved to the report location, and their investigations confirmed the information's accuracy. It turned out that the primary suspect "Ahmed M. H." a Faculty of Science graduate took over his brother "Mohamed M. H." the doctor's duties in the health unit for a long time.

After their arrest, the brothers gave detailed confessions revealing the motives behind the incident, which involved the real doctor receiving a lucrative job offer at an oil company, but the Beheira Health Directorate refused to grant him "leave without pay," so the brothers decided to exploit their "identical appearance" to allow the Faculty of Science graduate to perform the doctor's duties in the health unit to ensure the continuation of the government job, while the real doctor dedicated himself to his work at the oil company.

The accused were referred to the investigative authorities to commence investigations on charges of forgery in official documents, impersonation, and practicing medicine without a license, while the Shubrakhit Prosecutor's Office in Beheira Governorate decided to imprison the twins.
