Khaberni - The Faculty of Arts and Educational Sciences at Middle East University organized the "University Reciter" competition in its seventh season, with the participation of fifty students from various university disciplines.
This competition, which sees increasing participation from students year after year, is part of the university's efforts to strengthen students' connection with the Book of Allah, teach them the rules of recitation and tajweed on a solid scientific basis, alongside enhancing their self-confidence, and developing their presentation skills and public speaking.
The competition results awarded first place to the physical therapy student Mohammed Al-Zuqum in the male category, while the second place was shared by nursing college student Hamza Hamoudah, and physical therapy student Abdul Rahman Al-Badawi Yousuf.
On the female side, the first place went to interior design student Angham Al-Manaseer, while the second place was awarded to the professional diploma student in hospital and medical records management, Houriya Marzouq.
The judging panel included faculty member from the College of Arts and Educational Sciences Dr. Mohammed Al-Arman, Imam of Abu Qura Mosque, representative of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr. Abdullah Sarbil, and former teacher at Umm Al-Qura University, supervisor on the global platform "Sanad" for teaching the Quran Dr. Anwar Al-Shiltouni.
The winners were honored during a celebration organized by the Faculty of Arts and Educational Sciences on the occasion of the International Day of the Arabic Language, emphasizing the strong link between the Arabic language and the Holy Quran, and considering the competition as one of the most prominent initiatives that combines the linguistic dimension with the ethical and cognitive dimension in the university's educational mission.
