Khaberni - Turkish investigations have uncovered the puzzle of a treasure consisting of 25 kilograms of gold and 50 kilograms of silver, which had been stolen from the safety deposit box at Büyükçekmece Court in Istanbul.
It was found that part of the stolen goods was melted down by jewelers and converted into cash used to establish a car showroom intended for laundering the money.
The investigations confirmed that the operation was organized by a criminal network, and not an individual act as initially suggested.
The investigators determined that "M.S.", suspected to be the leader of the network, waited inside a car during the execution of the theft and has disappeared after the incident along with his cousin "M.A.", both of whom are now fugitives from justice.
From an official standpoint, the authorities conducted simultaneous raids at 50 addresses, seizing all vehicles present at the car showroom established with the stolen gold money, and they have also frozen all properties of the suspects, while the number of detainees rose to 16 people.
Documents have emerged indicating that Erdal Temurtaş, an employee at the court's safety deposit office, sent a message to a friend expressing his desire to benefit from the "effective confession" law, stating he is innocent and that others exploited him and did not pay him any money and threatened his family.
It is worth mentioning that the theft was discovered after Temurtaş's repeated absence from work, where inspections revealed the disappearance of the gold and silver.
Temurtaş and his wife İsma fled with their children to Britain through Sabiha Gökçen Airport on November 19, and a red notice has been issued for their arrest.
The employee responsible for the room key was arrested in the initial operation, while the second operation included the detention of 5 additional people, the imposition of house arrest on 3 suspects, and the release of 5 others with a travel ban.
