Khaberni - Social media was abuzz with a video documenting a horrific incident that occurred during a birthday celebration in Uzbekistan, where several women suffered burns due to exploding balloons.
According to the video, one of the women was trying to surprise her friend with a special birthday gift that included a lit cake and several colored balloons.
While the birthday girl was receiving congratulations and holding the cake, a spark from the lit cake approached balloons filled with flammable gas, causing them to instantly ignite and explode, creating a fireball that injured three women present, including the birthday girl who suffered multiple burns on her face.
Reports indicate that this incident is not the first of its kind, as there are increasing cases of burns resulting from the unsafe use of fireworks and balloons filled with flammable gases.
Experts explained that balloons are sometimes not filled with safe helium, but with hydrogen gas, which is highly flammable and can ignite even from high heat without any external spark.
Specialists confirmed that distinguishing between helium-filled balloons and hydrogen-filled ones is nearly impossible with the naked eye, making any celebration using colored balloons near fireworks or fire sources prone to explosion and fire risks.
