Khaberni - The weather forecast indicates that, God willing, on Friday, the kingdom will be affected by a cold and humid air mass accompanying a low pressure centered north of Cyprus Island, leading to a noticeable drop in temperature and cold, cloudy weather across different areas.
According to the Meteorological Administration, rainfall begins in the early morning hours in the north of the kingdom and parts of the central regions, before gradually extending to most areas of the kingdom. In the afternoon hours, the cold air front crosses, where rainfall intensifies and sometimes becomes heavy in the north and central parts of the kingdom and the southwestern regions, in addition to the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea areas, and may be accompanied by thunderstorms and hail, leading to the formation of flash floods in valleys and low areas and rising water levels.
The intensity of precipitation weakens during the late night hours, with a limited possibility of light and intermittent snow mixed with rain falling on the high peaks of the Sharah mountains, in addition to fog formation in many areas, especially mountainous heights. Western to northwestern winds are also active, with strong gusts that may reach speeds of between 50 and 65 km/h.
The Meteorological Administration has issued a high warning of the danger of flash floods in valleys and low areas, reduced horizontal visibility due to fog and low clouds, and the intensity of rainfall, in addition to the danger of wind speed and strong gusts, and the possibility of reduced visibility in desert areas due to dust. It urges citizens not to risk crossing flood pathways and areas of rainwater accumulation, to wear warm clothes, to use heating devices safely, to pay attention to the elderly and children, and to be cautious of slipping on wet roads, and to secure objects that are prone to being blown away.
The influence of the cold air mass continues on Saturday, with cold and partly to occasionally cloudy weather prevailing, with the chance of scattered rain showers in parts of the western regions remaining, before the chances of rainfall weaken in the evening, while the weather remains cold at night with the possibility of fog formation.
On Sunday, a slight increase in temperatures occurs, and the weather is stable and cold in most regions, and pleasant in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba areas, with the weather remaining cold during the night hours.
