The White House Trump Considers Buying Greenland

Khaberni - The White House reported on Wednesday that Donald Trump discussed with his team the purchase of Greenland from Denmark, pointing out that the American president prefers diplomacy, but does not rule out the possibility of military action.

White House spokeswoman Carolaine Levitt said in a press briefing in response to a question about a potential American offer to buy the Danish autonomous territory, "This matter is currently being actively studied by the president and his national security team."

She pointed out that Trump's team is currently considering a potential deal.

Levitt emphasized that Trump believes that acquiring Greenland is in the national security interest of the United States.

Levitt said, "He sees it in the interest of the United States to deter Russian and Chinese aggression in the Arctic region. Therefore, his team is currently looking into a possible purchase deal."

When asked why Trump does not rule out military action against a NATO member state, Levitt stated, "All options are always on the table for President Trump."

However, she noted that "diplomacy always remains the president's first choice."

Meanwhile, American Secretary of State Mark Rubio announced on Wednesday that he plans to meet with Danish officials next week, after Copenhagen requested a meeting to discuss Trump's ongoing threats to take control of Greenland.

Rubio told reporters, "I will meet with them next week."
