Syria We reject the incendiary rhetoric and exaggeration that could destabilize

Khaberni - The Syrian government confirmed that what was stated in the statement of the Democratic Forces of Syria "SDF" regarding the situation in the city of Aleppo, especially in the districts of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyah, includes significant inaccuracies and descriptions that do not reflect the actual field situation, and contradicts the agreement of April 1, 2025.

The Syrian government stated in its Wednesday statement that the confirmation of the Democratic Forces of Syria regarding their non-military presence inside the city of Aleppo, as mentioned in their statement, is an explicit acknowledgment that completely absolves them of any role or intervention in the city’s security and military affairs, and confirms that the exclusive responsibility for maintaining security and protecting citizens rests with the Syrian state and its legitimate institutions, according to the constitution and the in-force laws.

It emphasized that the protection of all citizens, including Kurdish citizens, is a national and legal responsibility that does not tolerate compromise or delegation, and is practiced without any discrimination based on race or affiliation, expressing its absolute rejection of any attempts to portray the security measures as targeting a specific component.

The statement said, "The relevant authorities confirm that those who displaced from the areas of tension are exclusively civilian locals, all of whom are Kurdish citizens who left their areas fearing escalation, and they have sought refuge in areas under the control of the state and its official institutions, which clearly demonstrates the trust of the Kurdish citizens in the Syrian state and its ability to provide protection and security for them, and refutes the claims that there is a threat or targeting directed against them."

The Syrian government’s statement pointed out that the measures taken in the vicinity of the districts of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyah are exclusively for the purpose of maintaining security, preventing any armed activities within the residential areas or using them as leverage against the city of Aleppo, while fully committed to protecting civilians, ensuring their safety, and not harming their properties.

The statement stressed that the Syrian state renews its demand for the withdrawal of armed groups from inside the districts of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyah, calls for the complete neutralization of civilians from any political or media tensions, rejects the incendiary rhetoric and exaggeration that could ignite tension and destabilize stability, and confirms that any approach to the situation in the city of Aleppo must be based on the principle of state sovereignty and the unity of its territory, ensuring the security and dignity of all citizens without exception.
