Minister of Labor Signing 5 collective agreements with electricity companies to improve benefits for 2800 workers

Khaberni - On Wednesday, at the Ministry of Labor, 5 collective work agreements were signed with 5 companies operating in the electricity sector to improve the job benefits for 2800 workers employed by these companies across various regions of the kingdom.

Labor Minister Khaled Al-Bakkar confirmed that these agreements came after a dialogue between the General Union of Electricity Workers and the management of the electricity companies under the supervision of the Ministry of Labor.

Al-Bakkar explained that this type of contract benefits the workers and improves the conditions and terms of employment, and the Ministry encourages direct negotiations between unions and employers, aiming for an agreement that satisfies both parties involved in the production process. He expressed appreciation for the cooperation of the union and the managements of these national companies.

He stated that the Ministry urges direct negotiations and cooperation between employers and unions, positively impacting the work environment and job stability for workers, as well as on all economic and social aspects, enhancing the workers' trust in their companies and their managements and promoting more work and achievement.

In turn, Fakhri Al-Ajarmeh, the head of the General Union of Electricity Workers, said that the signing of the agreement was the fruit of cooperation between the union and the company managements, with efforts from the Ministry of Labor, and this positively reflects on the workers in the five companies by improving some job benefits for around 2800 workers.

The signing ceremony was attended by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Labor, Dr. Abdel Halim Dougan, the head of the General Federation of Jordanian Trade Unions, Khaled Al-Fanatseh, the General Manager of the National Electricity Company, Sofyan Al-Batayneh, the General Manager of the Jordanian Electricity Company, Hassan Abdullah, the Director General of the Irbid Governorate Electricity Company, Bashar Al-Tamimi, the Director General of the Samra Electric Power Generating Company, Sami Al-Zawatin, the Director General of the Electricity Distribution Company, Reem Hamdan, and the Director of Labor Relations at the Ministry of Labor, Adnan Al-Dahamsheh.
