Jalila sparked a wave of harsh criticism and comments after her appearance in a video wearing the hijab while praying, which led her to respond and clarify the matter via Instagram stories, stating that wearing the hijab was not intended to announce a permanent commitment to wearing it, but was a personal decision stemming from her desire to start the new year differently.
The Moroccan lady confirmed that her decision to pray and wear the hijab at the beginning of the year was driven by a temporary inner conviction and was not meant for show or to stir controversy on social media.

She pointed out that the attacks she suffered from some did not change her intention because personal decisions should not be subject to skepticism or devaluation, especially when motivated by a spiritual and positive reason.
