Khaberni - American singer Taylor Swift kicked off 2026 with a remarkable achievement, as her song "The Fate of Ophelia" topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the longest period in her artistic career.
The song, from the album "The Life of a Showgirl", dominated the chart for nine consecutive weeks, surpassing her other successful song "Anti-Hero" which had stayed on the list for eight consecutive weeks.
This brought her previous album back to the top spot, after it was at position 28 due to the release of holiday songs.
According to "page six", the song recorded 18.3 million official listens in the United States, a weekly increase of 9%.
The "Billboard Hot 100" list, the weekly ranking of the most popular songs in the United States, is based on sales, radio airplay, and exposure.
Among Taylor Swift's other successful entries on the list, which have topped the song charts for weeks, are: "Blank Space", "Cruel Summer", and "Shake It Off".
Her single "Opalite" is currently ranked eighth on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
It should be noted that the song "End of the Beginning" by singer Joe Keery, star of the series "Stranger Things", has displaced Taylor Swift's "The Fate of Ophelia" from the top of the Spotify chart.
