Khaberni - In a breathtaking incident that appears straight out of a movie scene, an elderly man in his eighties miraculously survived a near-certain death, after falling from the fifteenth floor of a high-rise residential building in eastern China. While his fall seemed inevitable, a metal clothes dryer transformed into an unexpected lifesaver by catching his body and stopping his deadly descent, leaving him suspended between heaven and earth to the amazement of onlookers, before the focus shifted to the anticipated moment of his rescue.
According to eyewitness accounts, the man lost his balance and fell from his apartment on the fifteenth floor, striking a clothes dryer fixed outside a seventh-floor apartment window on his way down, where he was caught and left lying on his back, his legs dangling in the air, amid a state of panic among pedestrians who feared that the rack might collapse at any moment, as reported by the British newspaper "The Sun".
Recorded footage showed the elderly man, unable to move but remaining conscious, waiting for help in what seemed like a highly dangerous situation, with the possibility of falling again at any second.
Risky Rescue Operation
Immediately, the residential complex's security team rushed to the site, where the security team leader, Zhang Wei, undertook the risky rescue operation.
According to "Zhang," the apartment on the seventh floor was empty, and the presence of iron bars on the windows of the sixth floor prevented access to the man from below, making rescue from above the only option.
With the assistance of a resident on the eighth floor who opened his apartment, the security man managed to secure a fire hose around his waist and then cautiously lowered himself from the eighth-floor window, clinging to the ledge, before carefully descending towards the seventh floor, reaching the man within one minute and safely pulling him inside the apartment. Zhang Wei confirmed that the elderly man remained conscious throughout the rescue operation.
Stable Condition
After being rescued, the man was transported to the hospital for treatment.
This incident follows days after similar controversial incidents in China, the latest of which was a woman seen dangling from a balcony on the tenth floor, attempting to descend using pipes and windows, in a scene that captivated onlookers, before she managed to reach a neighboring apartment with the help of a resident.
