Khaberni - The Directorate of Public Works of Al-Balqa Governorate announced the start of procedures for tendering a series of vital road bids included in the decentralization budget for the new fiscal year 2026, with a total value of two million and fifty thousand dinars, in a step aimed at enhancing the road network and raising the level of public safety across the various divisions of the governorate.
This proactive move by the directorate responds to the early approval of the general budget law for fiscal year 2026, which allowed for the acceleration of technical and administrative pathways necessary for the timely issuance of bids. This approach ensures completion of execution and receipt processes and financial claims within the current fiscal year, thus avoiding any delays in projects and ensuring maximum utilization of allocated expenditures to benefit citizens.
Regarding the field details of the projects, the directorate has begun tendering for the construction and implementation of agricultural roads in Al-Qasabah Division extending over a distance of 1.3 km, alongside comprehensive maintenance works for various sections of main roads, which include milling and paving with hot mix asphalt and lining with thermal paint in Southern Shuneh over 1.7 km, Deir Alla Division over 2.4 km, in addition to Al-Za'atari Road within Al-Qasabah Division over 2 km. The package also included the implementation of standard bumps of high specifications on various roads within the governorate to enhance traffic safety standards.
In terms of sustainability, the bids include periodic general maintenance services in the divisions of Deir Alla, Southern Shuneh, and Ain Al-Basha to ensure the durability of roads and the safety of their users. Additionally, a bid for the lighting of Wadi Al-Sidd and Bayoudah road in Al-Aredah area over a length of 250 meters has been issued, as part of the directorate's plan to develop the infrastructure in both vital and rural areas equally.
