Khaberni - Minister of Health Dr. Ibrahim Al-Budur directed the implementation of standardized procedures for treating stroke patients and organizing their transfer procedures within the ministry's hospitals, in order to unify treatment procedures and improve the quality of services provided to stroke patients in Ministry of Health hospitals.
The minister’s directives emphasized adherence to medically recognized and approved treatment protocols, based on clear principles that ensure patient safety and continuity of medical care. Stroke cases are managed in hospitals covered by neurology specialists (whether they are ministry staff or contracted) according to these approved protocols.
As for hospitals that do not have on-call neurology specialists, they will be covered by on-call neurology specialists from the nearest hospitals, according to approved schedules, ensuring that medical care is provided according to the same protocols.
In cases requiring transfer of the patient to other hospitals, this will be coordinated directly with the on-call neurology specialist, ensuring patient safety and continuity of optimal medical care.
This protocol is part of a plan laid out by the Ministry of Health two months ago, aimed at developing clear concepts and establishing uniform treatment protocols for brain and heart strokes, in addition to unifying protocol treatments for cancer patients in all medical sectors.
