Khaberni - Prime Minister Jafar Hassan issued Announcement No. (1) for the implementation of the Public Budget Law for the fiscal year 2026.
The prime minister's announcement, reviewed by "Al-Mamlaka," aims to ensure the implementation of the Public Budget Law in a manner that leads to achieving national goals and priorities, executing the second phase of the Economic Modernization Vision and the public sector development plan, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of public spending, strengthening fiscal monitoring processes and procedures, and reducing any potential excesses or violations that may arise during the implementation of the public budget.
The prime minister's announcement also aims to follow up on the performance evaluation of government departments and units through periodic reports issued by the government regarding this.
Finance Minister Abdul Hakeem Al-Shibli issued the Financial Order for the fiscal year 2026 for ministries, departments, and government units.
According to the Financial Order, Finance Minister insisted on Article (4/A) of the Public Budget Law for the fiscal year 2026 which states that "spending from the allocations earmarked for government departments shall be based on general and/or specific financial orders and by monthly financial transfers authorized by the General Director of the Public Budget Department".
Finance Minister emphasized Article (15/A) which states that "spending from the allocations earmarked for government units shall be based on general and/or specific orders".
The Royal Decree was issued on December 21st last year, approving the Public Budget Law for the fiscal year 2026, according to the Official Gazette.
