The news spread quickly among the pages concerned with celebrity news, amid speculations about the reasons for their sudden halt in daily digital activity.
It is noteworthy that the last activity recorded by Dr. Khulood on her accounts was on Saturday, January 4th, when she appeared enjoying festive atmospheres with her family, before she completely disappeared from publishing and interaction, which is unusual for her.
Many pages specializing in celebrity news published this information, while a number of social media users demanded not to circulate news without verifying its accuracy, pointing to the absence of any official sources supporting these claims.
Previous responses to financial accusations
Dr. Khulood had previously faced criticisms and speculations about the sources of her wealth, especially after she appeared with luxurious gifts including a diamond-studded watch worth about 120,000 Kuwaiti Dinars.
She then responded by confirming that the watch was a gift, indicating that all her and her husband's income sources are clear and declared.
She also clarified that her husband works in advertising and owns a private company, in addition to his activity in the real estate sector, categorically denying what she described as malicious accusations, emphasizing her title of "doctor" as she graduated from medical college and owns a private clinic.
Celebrity money laundering case brought to the forefront
This news came two days after circulated news about the arrest of the well-known Kuwaiti activist Yaqoub Boushehri with the same accusations, which raised questions about the possibility of reopening the file of the corruption case known in the media as "celebrity money laundering" that occupied the Kuwaiti public opinion since 2020, when the Public Prosecution referred a number of social media celebrities to investigation on suspicions of accumulating unjustified wealth, and imposed restrictions on their travel and bank transactions.
