Jordan Government Committee to Study Erosions and Road Blocks in AlIraq Area of Karak

Khaberni - The Ministers of Public Works and Local Administration decided to form a technical committee chaired by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Local Administration for Financial Affairs, to investigate the causes leading to erosions and road cuts in the Al-Iraq area.

This decision comes according to an official letter received by Ammon, based on a report of the Public Safety Committee in Karak Governorate dated 2026/1/4, which included warnings about the dangers of valley backfilling by machinery, due to its negative effects that may lead to their erosion again on adjacent roads, in addition to emphasizing the need to address the Ministry of Local Administration and the municipalities of Mu'tah and Al-Mazar to stop these activities.

The report also emphasized the importance of preparing a comprehensive drainage plan for the roads in the area, improving the connectivity among them, completing the dirt roads, alongside reconstructing the roads and culverts in a manner that suits the geographical nature of the area and helps reduce future erosions.

The technical committee is scheduled to submit a detailed report including the necessary recommendations within a week from its formation, in preparation for taking appropriate actions and ensuring public safety.
