Israeli Health Ministry Announces First Case of Monkeypox

Khaberni - The Israeli Ministry of Health announced today (Tuesday) that it has recorded the first case of monkeypox subtype 1b in a traveler returning from abroad last week.

The Ministry noted that no additional cases have been discovered, and that steps are being taken to replenish vaccine stock and provide it to the most vulnerable groups.

It said the case arrived from the United Arab Emirates, and warned that the available vaccines are effective against this strain, but there has been no stock of them in Israel for more than six months.
