Khaberni - Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar announced that the President of "Somaliland" Abdulrahman Mohamed Abdullah,
received an invitation from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to visit Tel Aviv and accepted it.
The Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar arrived in Somaliland's capital Hargeisa on Tuesday, on his first official visit after Israel announced its recognition of it.
Israel is the first country to officially recognize the unilaterally declared Somaliland Republic as an independent and sovereign state and immediately sought to cooperate with it in fields such as agriculture, health, and technology.
Saar said in a tweet on "X" "It's a great honor to make the first official diplomatic visit to Somaliland at the invitation of its president", adding "We are determined to strengthen relations between Israel and Somaliland vigorously. Today we've conducted substantive discussions with the president and senior government members about all aspects of our relations".
He considered that "the mutual recognition and establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries are not directed against anyone. Our common goal is to enhance the mutual interests of both countries".
He continued, "In Hargeisa, I made it clear: Israel alone decides who it recognizes and with whom it establishes diplomatic relations", pointing out that "the president of Somaliland accepted Netanyahu's invitation and will undertake an official visit to Israel".
