Agreement Allows Jordanian Buses to Enter Saudi Arabia During Hajj Until Before Mecca

Khaberni  - Minister of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs, and Holy Places, Mohammad Al-Khalaileh, said on Tuesday that an agreement was reached with the Saudi side that allows the entry of Jordanian buses up to before Mecca.

Al-Khalaileh added, during a press conference held at the Islamic Cultural Center - Mosque of the Martyr King the Founder, to announce this year's Hajj arrangements, that according to the agreement, Saudi buses will be rented to accompany the Jordanian pilgrims within the sacred sites in Mina and Arafat, and during the pilgrim dispatch.

He pointed out that despite renting buses and the additional services that will be provided for Jordanian pilgrims to improve the conditions of Hajj, the cost of Hajj this year is similar to last year's cost, and it has only increased by small amounts ranging from 50 to 60 dinars.

Saudi Arabia had informed Jordan that it would prohibit the entry of Jordanian buses into its territory during the next Hajj season, and that the Saudi buses would complete the transportation of pilgrims within the kingdom, according to what the minister said earlier.

Al-Khalaileh announced that the quota allocated for Jordan is 8,000 pilgrims, in addition to 4,500 pilgrims from Arabs of 1948.

Al-Khalaileh explained that the selection of pilgrims for this season was done according to the approved criteria, where those born on or before March 31, 1954 were approved, noting that the ministry has completed the regulatory and technical procedures necessary to ensure a smooth Hajj season and to provide the best services for Jordanian pilgrims.

He stated that two categories for accommodation and transport have been approved for this season. The first category is "Premium," which includes five-star hotels located on the sanctuary plaza in Medina, no more than 400 meters from the courtyard of the Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, and transportation for this category is by foot only, with package prices ranging from 5817 to 8107 dinars, varying by the packages offered by the companies. This price includes the airfare.

The second category has been divided into two levels. The first level includes five-star hotels, not more than 1500 meters from the courtyards of the Haram in Mecca, priced between 3721 to 4768 dinars for a quad room, varying by the name of the hotel, location, distance from the Haram, and the number of beds per room, including the price of the air ticket.

The second level of the second category includes very good hotels, not more than 1500 meters from the courtyards of the Haram in Mecca, with pilgrim hotels within areas like (Al-Hafayer/ Jarwal/ Al-Jumairah) and in Medina within the central area, where prices range from 3140 to 3306 dinars for a quad room, varying by the hotel and the number of beds per room. Transportation will be by regular buses, with an additional 85 dinars if the pilgrim chooses a (VIP) bus.
