Khaberni – The Jordanian national Olympic team (under 23 years old) suffered a loss in the opening of its matches at the U-23 Asian Cup tournament, which started today in Saudi Arabia.
The opening match ended with Vietnam winning by a score of 2–0.
In the 13th minute, the referee awarded Vietnam a penalty kick after reviewing the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system, due to a handball by one of the national team's players inside the penalty area, which was successfully executed by player Nguyen.
In the 41st minute, Nguyen scored his country's second goal, following a corner kick that the Jordanian defense failed to handle properly.
It is noteworthy that the national team is in the first group alongside the teams of Saudi Arabia and Kyrgyzstan, and both teams will meet later today.
