Bullets in the Sky Armed Man Fires at Security Helicopter During Flight

Khaberni - A shocking video recorded and published by the Los Angeles police, shows dangerous moments that ended with the apprehension of an armed man who fired at a police helicopter during a security operation in one of the city's neighborhoods.

The details of the incident go back to November 20, when the police received a report of an attack using a deadly weapon in the Manchester Square area of Los Angeles. Immediately, police patrols headed to the location, supported by an aerial surveillance helicopter to track the suspect.

While the helicopter was flying over the area, the officers spotted an armed man standing in front of his house, who suddenly fired three to five shots directly at the aircraft, in a highly dangerous escalation captured by the police air unit's cameras.

The video showed the moment the suspect aimed his rifle at the helicopter despite repeated orders to drop the weapon. According to the police statement, the man ignored the instructions issued to him, leading to a situation where the police fired shots, though the suspect was not injured.

Despite dropping his weapon later, he refused to surrender and retreated into his house, attempting to barricade himself inside. This necessitated the intervention of the SWAT team and the police canine unit. After a confrontation that lasted about four hours, a trained police dog was released, who pounced on the suspect and forced him to surrender, ending the encounter without any injuries among the security personnel.

The 57-year-old suspect was transported to a local hospital for treatment after being bitten by the dog, before being formally arrested, and charged with assaulting a police officer with a deadly weapon. The authorities confiscated the weapon used and retained it as evidence in the case.

The police confirmed that no other injuries were recorded, noting that the investigation into the circumstances of the incident is still ongoing, amidst commendations for the coordination between the security units in controlling the situation without human losses.
