Khaberni - Israeli occupation forces, this Tuesday morning, stormed Birzeit University north of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, dispersing a stand organized by students in solidarity with Palestinian prisoners by force, before later withdrawing from the area.
The Palestinian Red Crescent said that 11 students were injured by the occupation forces' gunfire within the university campus, and that the occupation prevents medical teams from accessing the university to aid the injured.
The Al Jazeera correspondent confirmed that the occupation forces fired live ammunition inside the campus, noting that the army is positioned around Kamal Nasser Hall and other parts of the university.
The Al Jazeera correspondent reported that the occupation forces broke through the main gate of the university and spread across various parts of the campus, firing bullets and gas bombs to disperse the students, indicating that a number of students were injured due to the incursion.
The storming of Birzeit University is part of a series of repeated Israeli violations of Palestinian academic institutions, and the occupation army has stormed the same university many times before, arresting students and confiscating belongings.
Since the genocide war on Gaza began on October 8, 2023, the occupied West Bank including Jerusalem has witnessed an Israeli escalation from the army and settlers, resulting in at least 1105 Palestinian deaths, around 11,000 injuries, and about 21,000 arrests, according to local authorities and Palestinian organizations.
