61000 supported employment contracts through the national employment program since 2022 with a continuation rate of 75

Khaberni - Riyadh Shamout, the director of the national employment program at the Ministry of Labor, said on Tuesday that the number of supported employment contracts signed through the program from 2022 to 2025 has reached 61,330, out of which 31,444 contracts were signed with females.

Shamout added that the continuation rate of employees after the end of the wage support period offered by the program, according to the program administration's tracking via the data from the Social Security Corporation, is about 75%.

He explained that private sector companies benefiting from the program focus their signing of supported employment contracts with the age group 18-29 years, which amounted to 43,045 contracts since the launch of the program in 2022. It is noted that the program targets the age group from 18 to 45 years.

He indicated that the number of supported employment contracts signed through the program in 2025 reached 16,139, out of which 7,404 contracts were signed with females, adding that the number of contracts signed for the age group from 18-29 years reached 12,109 contracts.

Regarding the number of individuals benefiting from the national employment program from the beneficiaries of the National Aid Fund from 2022 to 2025, it reached 7,043 people, bringing the number of families removed from the benefit umbrella of the national aid to 1,194 families. He pointed out that the number of beneficiaries from the national aid recipients in the year 2025 alone reached 1,976 people, including 704 females.

In terms of the number of private sector establishments registered to benefit from the wage support offered by the program, Shamout said: "Since 2022, about 3,530 private sector establishments have been registered, of which 2,089 establishments have been supported by the program. The establishments recorded a satisfaction rate with the support provided by the program which reached 96.7%."

Regarding the sectors most employing the target group of the program, he said: "The sectors most engaged in employment, in order, were: the private education sector, accommodation and food service activities, manufacturing industries, administrative services and logistics support, wholesale and retail trade, and human health and social work activities."

Regarding the geographical distribution of establishments benefiting from supported employment contracts from the program, Shamout explained that the distribution of establishments was according to the highest benefit as follows: the capital Amman, followed by Irbid Governorate, then Zarqa Governorate, followed by Balqa Governorate, and then Karak Governorate, confirming that the number of establishments and economic activity plays a significant role in this distribution.

In relation to training and qualifying the youth benefiting from the program, Shamout clarified that the number of these youths who received training, whether during work or training on employment skills and occupational safety and health, reached about 22,000 young men and women.
