Dima Tahboub submits 100 inquiry questions to the Ministry of Labor Documents

Khaberni - In the longest interrogation witnessed by the Jordanian House of Representatives, MP Dima Tahboub submitted an interrogation consisting of 100 inquiry questions directed at the Ministry of Labor, concerning the application of decent work standards in Jordan.

The interrogation covers six basic standards including: public policies and employment standards, wage standards and minimum wages, social protection and social security standards, labor law standards and recent amendments, trade unions and social dialogue standards, and finally public safety and occupational health standards and law enforcement.

This interrogation was submitted just one day after a parliamentary question about decent work was discussed, which Tahboub had raised in the oversight session held on January 5, 2026. She decided to convert the question into an interrogation, due to her dissatisfaction with the government's response, and considering it insufficient to clarify what has been accomplished in this field.

The session witnessed extensive debate following the response of the Minister of Labor, Khaled Al-Bakkar, which some MPs described as "harsh and offensive," prompting MP Tahboub to take the step of escalation oversight.
