Khaberni - Turkish authorities have arrested actor Dogukan Gungor, the star of the "Cranberry Juice" series, as part of extensive investigations conducted by the Istanbul Public Prosecutor's Office in a case of drug use and facilitation, involving a number of well-known names in the artistic and media fields.
The prosecutor's office reported that an arrest warrant was issued against 26 individuals, with 23 of them being arrested during simultaneous security operations conducted in four provinces: Istanbul, Izmir, Denizli, and Mugla, including Dogukan Gungor.
Gungor is known for portraying the character "Fateh" in the famous series "Cranberry Juice," which achieved high viewership rates both in Turkey and internationally, before this case brought him to the forefront of the judicial and media scene.
According to an official statement, the charges involve "possession and use of drugs," "facilitation of drug use," and also "incitement to or facilitating prostitution or intermediating in it."
The prosecutor's office noted that two of the wanted persons are abroad, while another individual is already serving a prison sentence for a separate case.
The investigations revealed that the number of individuals arrested in the case has reached 36, while businessman Kasim Garip Oglu and social media personality Mert Vidinli are still at large.
The case began with a major operation launched by the Istanbul Prosecutor's Office on December 18 (December), targeting prominent figures in Turkish drama and social media, including Alina Tiliki, Erim Sak, Danla Bilic, and Mumin Sena Yildiz, who were released after the completion of the investigations.
The investigations are still ongoing amid widespread media coverage, marking one of the largest drug-related cases involving celebrities in the Turkish artistic community in recent times.
