Khaberni - The latest statistics issued by the Dubai Health Authority indicate that the population composition in the Emirate has experienced a leap in growth and distinction characterized by a youthful majority and a unique and practical dynamic character. Residents under the age of 35 represent about 60.4% of the total population, reflecting an active and vibrant society that contributes significantly to the labor market. Among the same group, the male percentage is about 66.4% compared to 33.6% for females, clearly reflecting the practical and occupational nature of the Emirate’s population.
According to the statistics, which were reviewed by «Emirates Today», the middle-aged group from 35 to 59 years old comprise about 37.1% of the total population, while seniors aged 60 years and older account for about 2.5%, confirming that Dubai still retains a young and dynamic population pyramid. The city is considered one of the cities with a youthful population composition compared to many global cities.
In detail, recent statistics from the Dubai Health Authority showed that Dubai’s population during the year 2024 reached approximately three million 863 thousand and 600 inhabitants, registering an increase of 5.7% from the year 2023, when the population was three million and 655 thousand.
The data revealed that the age group under 35 years represents the majority in Dubai, with about two million 334 thousand and 676 individuals, thus constituting about 60.4% of the total population, highlighting the youthful and dynamic nature of this group. Males account for about one million and 550 thousand and 260 individuals, which amounts to 66.4% of this group, compared to 784 thousand and 416 females, reflecting a direct impact of the labor market and professional opportunities available in the Emirate.
According to the authority's report, the number of people in the middle-aged group from 35 to 59 years reached about one million and 436 thousand and 734 individuals, which is nearly 37.1% of the total population. This group represents the backbone of professional stability and experience and plays a key role in leading economic, administrative, and professional sectors.
Regarding the elderly who are 60 years old or more, statistics show that their number reached about 92 thousand and 190 individuals, making up 2.5% of the total population. From this group, 79 thousand and 714 individuals are between 60 and 74 years old, and 12 thousand and 476 individuals are older than 75 years, which confirms that Dubai still boasts a unique and young demographic pyramid. Dubai is among the cities characterized by a low rate of elderly compared to many global cities that are facing an "aging population", and this decrease in the age dependency ratio enhances economic spending efficiency and directs resources towards development and innovation.
The statistics mentioned that the age group from 30 to 34 years old is at the top of the population pyramid in Dubai during the year 2024, making it the largest population block with 694 thousand and 633 individuals, representing about 18% of the total population. This age group embodies the professional maturity and stability phase, with males contributing about 510 thousand and 913 individuals, while females number 183 thousand and 720 individuals. This makes it a significant force in the labor market and productive sectors.
The age group from 25 to 29 years old ranks second, enhancing the youthful character of the Emirate. The number of residents within this age group totaled 642 thousand and 657 individuals, equivalent to about 16.5% of the population. This segment is the most dynamic and adaptable to the rapid technological developments in Dubai, comprising 472 thousand and 764 males and 169 thousand and 893 females, forming a primary source for entrepreneurship and innovation sectors.
