Miyahuna Water pumping stopped in Shmeisani as a precaution after a change in quality without harm to citizens

Khaberni - Ibrahim Qbeilat, the spokesman for the Jordan Water Company "Miyahuna", confirmed on Tuesday that the company has not recorded any harm to citizens due to the change in water quality in the Shmeisani area in the capital, Amman.

Qbeilat explained that the water pumping in the Shmeisani area was stopped as a precautionary and preventive measure to fully control the change in water quality in the area and identify its causes.

Qbeilat added that the company's teams emptied the water tanks and refilled them using the company's sterilized tankers.

Qbeilat also mentioned that 25 water tankers have been allocated to meet the needs of the citizens during the period of water pumping suspension in the area, until the main reasons for the change in water quality are determined.

Qbeilat pointed out that the technical teams of the company installed monitoring points in the area to determine the causes of the change in water quality precisely, whether through laboratory tests or field operations.

He explained that the area is densely populated, which requires more time and effort to determine the real reasons for this change.

He noted that the samples taken from the water in the Shmeisani area showed that they did not meet the Jordanian specifications.

The company also stated in its statement on Monday evening that a comprehensive survey of the area in question was implemented, isolating the area and disconnecting a number of residential connections. The company confirmed that all corrective actions are being coordinated with the relevant authorities.
