Khaberni - The House of Representatives will hold its session on Wednesday, chaired by Mazen Al-Qadi, to discuss the agenda of the thirteenth session of the second ordinary term.
Among the most prominent items listed on the agenda according to Khaberni, is the discussion of a draft law amending the Independent Election Commission Law for the year 2025, which includes the proposed amendments.
The project includes an amendment to Article 7 of the original law, which regulates the mechanism for paying salaries and allowances to the president and members of the council. The project proposes the cancellation of paragraph (b) of Article (7), and replacing it with a text that grants council members a salary and allowances according to the highest bracket for high category judges, in accordance with the effective legislation, whereas previously under the original law they were paid salaries and allowances prescribed for the deputy president of the Court of Cassation by the provisions of the effective legislation.
