Khaberni - The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior confirmed the continuation of the residence procedures without change, and that the prescribed residence fees are fully collected according to the laws and regulations in force.
The Ministry stated in a statement that, «clarifying what was circulated through one of the audio clips on social media regarding the exemption of residence fees under the new residence law, the Ministry of Interior confirmed that what was circulated in this regard is not true and is not based on any official decision or statement.»
It mentioned that «residence procedures continue unchanged, and that the prescribed residence fees are fully collected in accordance with the laws and regulations in force, confirming that there is no exemption from residence fees.»
The Ministry of Interior also clarified that the exemption is limited only to health insurance fees, by a decision issued by the Ministry of Health, and includes only the first three domestic workers for Kuwaiti families, and does not extend to cover any other fees.
The Ministry of Interior urged everyone to ensure accuracy in the publication and circulation of information, and to refer to its official accredited channels.
