Copper prices rise to record levels

Khaberni  - Copper prices continued their climb during Monday's trading session on the London Stock Exchange, reaching a record high, surpassing 13 thousand dollars per metric ton, amidst rising fears of a global supply shortage.

The recent disturbances in Venezuela, one of the metal suppliers, reflect the increasing pressures on markets, which further accelerates the race among nations and companies to secure vital basic minerals for the electric industries and infrastructure.

This increase comes according to the "Mining" platform specialized in metals, after copper prices saw an increase of about 40% over the past year, supported by strong growth expectations in demand, particularly from data centers associated with artificial intelligence technologies, and the electric vehicle industry, where copper is a fundamental element in energy cables and electrical infrastructure.
