Calls for Modifications to the Upcoming Edition of the Reserve League

Khaberni  - Sources within the professional clubs revealed that the competitions department of the football association is considering introducing new modifications to the upcoming edition of the Reserve League Championship, based on feedback from relevant parties in the participating teams.

The Reserve League, which was held this season for the first time in its history, faced criticism due to some details.
The sources explained that the competitions department responded to some demands from club coaches, especially after the repeated difficulties that clubs faced in match scheduling during the current, inaugural edition. Many criticisms emerged from the coaches of the teams involved in the championship recently, who expressed their dissatisfaction with the organization's level, stressing the need to improve organization if it is to be officially adopted in upcoming seasons, pointing out that players and coaches suffered significantly during the matches, according to Al-Ghad newspaper.
Al-Faisaly's reserve team coach, Mohanned Zakaria, who ended his association with Al-Faisaly a few days ago due to personal reasons, believes that the next edition should be held for players under 21 years of age instead of 23 in the current edition, to better align with the requirements for developing young players, and stressed that reserve league games should be played after every first-team match, which would allow first-team coaches to better follow the players and benefit more directly from their development.
Zakaria added that the current timing of the matches was not suitable for university students, demanding a schedule more in line with their educational situations, also pointing to a lack of sufficient equipment for stadiums and facilities and a shortage of monitors, which negatively affected the conduct of the competitions, in his words.
Regarding the championship's ties with the national Olympic team's participation in overseas tournaments, Zakaria saw that continuing the championship despite the absence of these players had a negative impact on some teams, proposing to temporarily suspend the championship or adjust the match schedule to avoid this impact.
In turn, Al-Ahly's reserve team coach Adi Al-Mubaidin emphasized the importance of aligning match schedules with the first team, since most 23-year-old players are always present with the first team.
Al-Mubaidin added that the Reserve League provides a real opportunity for young players to develop their skills and gain actual match experience, away from the pressure of playing with the first team.
The Al-Ahly coach noted that allowing three first-team players to participate in the Reserve League matches increased the strength and level of competition in the recent period, pointing out that it is among the positive cases in the championship, hoping for its continuation in future editions.
Tonight, Al Jazeera Club is expected to be crowned champions of the first edition of the championship in the match against Shabab Al-Jordan at 3:00 PM at the Union grounds, noting that they had clinched the title in the previous and penultimate round after defeating Al-Ramtha by two goals to nil.
