After reports of his injury AlSharaa walks around Damascus Video

Khaberni  - Footage published by Syrian media on Monday evening showed President Ahmad Al-Sharaa walking in Mezzeh neighborhood in Damascus, following reports which were denied by the Ministry of Interior concerning a security incident targeted him.

The circulated footage showed President Ahmad Al-Sharaa inside a store, shopping and paying with the new Syrian currency, reassuring citizens, and talking and smiling with them.

This came hours after the Ministry of Interior denied rumors of a security incident targeting Al-Sharaa, where the spokesman Nour Eddin Al-Baba wrote on his "X" platform account clarifying: "Some platforms circulated unfounded news claiming a security incident targeted the excellence of the President of the Syrian Arab Republic and several leadership personalities, accompanied by forged statements falsely attributed to official bodies."

The same spokesman added: "We categorically affirm the falsity of these allegations comprehensively and in detail, and urge the esteemed citizens and all media outlets to be accurate and responsible, and not to source news except from recognized official sources."

Since last week, social media users have been sharing information about gunfire heard at the presidential palace on December 30. No further media appearances by Al-Sharaa followed after that.

Ministry of Interior spokesman Nour Eddin Al-Baba wrote in a post on "X" platform "Some platforms circulated unfounded news claiming a security incident targeted the excellence of the President of the Syrian Arab Republic and several leadership personalities."

He added "We categorically affirm the falsity of these allegations comprehensively and in detail."

According to Abdul Rahman, "the gunfire occurred due to internal disputes among individuals inside the palace and did not target Al-Sharaa."

The last media appearance of Al-Sharaa was on December 29, during his participation in a Central Bank event launching the new currency in Syria.
