Khaberni - Marwan Attia and Yasser Ibrahim shook the net for the first time in their history with the Egyptian national team, winning 3-1 over Benin and moving up to the quarterfinals in the Africa Cup of Nations football tournament held in Morocco in a match that went to two extra halves on Monday.
Attia broke the deadlock in the 69th minute with a brilliant inside-foot shot from the edge of the area that found the top right corner of Benin's goal before Godl Dosou equalized in the 83rd minute after a cross inside the penalty area hit Ahmed Fotouh and reached Dosou, who returned it to the net.
Attia shone again creating the winning goal for his teammate Ibrahim in the seventh minute of the first overtime half, playing a cross into the penalty area which Ibrahim beautifully headed into the net.
In the final minutes of the game, Mohamed Salah, alone, fired a brilliant inside-foot shot from outside the penalty area into Benin's net.
Egypt, in pursuit of its eighth title in the competition, awaits the winner of the match between Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso being held on Monday.
