Khaberni - FC Barcelona is preparing to make a move to reacquire Joao Cancelo, player of the Al Hilal Saudi club.
Doubts have recently arisen about Cancelo's continuation with the Al Hilal, as several sources have confirmed that the Portuguese fullback is on his way out of "the Leader" in the winter transfer window.
This follows Cancelo suffering an injury at the start of the season, before being excluded from the capital's team roster by coach Simone Inzaghi, in favor of forward Marcos Leonardo.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, who specializes in transfer news, reported that Barcelona is now leading the race to sign Cancelo during the current winter transfer period.
Romano wrote on his account on the social platform "X": "Barcelona sends an initial formal offer to Al Hilal for Joao Cancelo."
He explained: "A loan offer that covers a small part of the salary, and negotiations between the two clubs are still ongoing."
He concluded: "Inter Milan reached a verbal agreement with AlHilal to sign Cancelo last week, but the player is waiting for Barcelona's offer."
According to Spanish media and confirmed by Romano, the player wishes to return to Barcelona, where he played during the 2023-2025 season, which could play a decisive role in sealing the deal.
Besides Barcelona, Cancelo has had several stints with major European clubs, having defended the colors of Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Juventus, and Manchester City, before settling with AlHilal.
Besides Barca, Inter Milan also appears as a potential destination for the 31-year-old player.
