Netanyahu includes Light Shield in the Iron Strike against Iran

Khaberni -  Experts on Israeli affairs revealed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and members of his military entourage are relying on the new laser system "Light Shield" in the Israeli "Iron Strike" plan, which is planned to be activated in an imminent war against Iran, especially in light of the successful trials it has undergone.

Estimates coincided with reports from the Israeli Ministry of Defense, which considered the new defensive system "the most advanced in the world".

According to the Hebrew newspaper "Haaretz", the Israeli Defense Technology Authority "Rafael" was racing against time to accelerate the production of the "Light Shield", with the completion of its trials coinciding with the timing of formulating the "Iron Strike" plan, which Israel intends to activate in the anticipated war.

Starting from January 5, 2026, the name "Iron Strike" became a code for a new Israeli military plan targeting Iran, and over the course of 3 hours, Netanyahu preceded the Cabinet meeting last Sunday by holding deliberations in closed security rooms about the plan and its motives, to deal forcefully and decisively with the Iranian threats.

The plan relies on directing a "preventive strike", aimed at weakening the production of Iranian ballistic missiles, as well as targeting nuclear infrastructure, before Tehran is able to renew its arsenal after the last 12-day war in June 2025, according to the newspaper "Maariv".

Despite lengthy discussions in the corridors of the "Pentagon" about the United States joining Israel in the impending war, the Hebrew site "Walla" alluded to "resolving the issue", attributing this to indicators, which largely reflected the goals of the Israeli plan, including confirmation from the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio: "In the twenty-first century, under the Trump administration, there will be no hostile country or entity like Iran or Hezbollah".

This is added to a tweet, posted two days ago by the US Secretary of State, and former CIA director, Mike Pompeo, which read: "Happy New Year to the Iranians in the streets, and to the Mossad agents beside them".

Analysts believed that Trump clarified points with Trump regarding everything related to US participation in the expected "Iron Strike" plan, and CBS reported from the analysts that the latest US military operation in Venezuela was a clear message to Iran that Trump is ready to use military force to achieve political changes or protect American interests.

Observers indicated that Israel and the United States have a complex history of coordination and intersections concerning the military action strategy against Iran.

According to sources in Tel Aviv, Israel and the United States agreed on the need for Lebanon to remain neutral, warning that any intervention by Hezbollah in the potential war with Iran could lead to broader military responses.

While Tel Aviv has not released an official statement about its plan, observers warned that the media reports "are still just speculation", and that the precise nature of any potential operations against Iran would most likely be shaped by evolving regional dynamics and diplomatic negotiations.

Amid the dramatic indicators in Washington and Tel Aviv, particularly after hinting at the "Iron Strike" plan, the Iranian regime searched for a safe haven to avoid the anticipated strike, and "The Times" newspaper, quoting sources, said that the Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi secretly met with heads of government-owned media institutions, describing the crisis as a "struggle for the survival of the rule of the Islamic Republic, and for the nation".

According to the sources, Araghchi said that "the chances of negotiating with Washington are nil, and that dealing with Washington is not within his purview".

Meanwhile, President Masoud Barzgian listened to advice from close associates, who suggested to him "to put the responsibility for the aggravation of situations on the Iranian Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, and on the dual power structure in the country, particularly as Khamenei took 'unilateral decisions' at the expense of the powers of the head of state", according to the British newspaper.

Hebrew reports, early this Monday, stated that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu agreed on the new attack plan on Iran, which was dubbed the "Iron Strike".

This was followed by confirmation from US President Donald Trump that the United States is closely monitoring the situation in Iran, affirming that if it continues to kill protesters, it will receive a "strong strike".

Netanyahu led a lengthy security meeting on Sunday night, lasting 5 hours, attended by the ministers of the smaller security cabinet "Cabinet", and during which the day and time suitable for the attack were discussed, according to Hebrew sources.

The sources mentioned that the meeting discussed situation assessments on all open fronts, focusing on Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, and of course, Iran and Yemen as well.

The Hebrew channel "i24news" reported that the Israeli military entered a state of high alert fearing Iran might redirect its fire towards Israel, pointing out that the Israeli Intelligence Division is also conducting military exercises.

The channel confirmed that "Netanyahu presented during the meeting, the results that were reached with Trump, during their last meeting in Florida", noting that "Netanyahu in the meeting determined the priorities of action against Iran and its timing".

Defense Minister Yisrael Katz and Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir visited the intelligence branch, during which they learned about military training simulations covering various scenarios related to the war on Iran.
