Khaberni - The competent investigative authorities in Egypt have decided to renew the detention of the accused of ending the life of the artist Said Mukhtar for 15 days pending investigations, following a fight that broke out between the two near Wadi Degla Club.
In the same context, Sherine Gouda, the lawyer of the late artist Said Mukhtar, said during a live broadcast on her official Facebook page, that Mukhtar was, according to her narrative, betrayed while heading to see his son, noting that the meeting was initially scheduled inside a mall in October City, before his ex-wife changed the location and the time.
Gouda explained that the artist's ex-wife attended the meeting location accompanied by her customary husband, Atef, considering that what happened was pre-arranged, pointing out that these circumstances contributed to exacerbating the situation and the occurrence of the fight.
The lawyer of the deceased revealed new personal details, confirming that rumors of an official divorce between the artist and his wife are not true, explaining that the wife is still legally his until now, and that the khul' lawsuit filed by her in September has not yet received a final ruling, rendering her customary marriage to the accused an illegal situation.
She added that the artist Said Mukhtar had rented an apartment for his wife at the beginning of November, and had also transferred a sum of money to her just hours before the incident, taking into consideration the needs of their son Salim, at the same time noting that the wife had been preventing him from seeing the child lately.
She indicated that the presence of the wife at the club accompanied by her customary husband at the time of visitation was the direct cause of the altercation, which ended with the artist's stabbing to death in front of the Wadi Degla Club in the city of 6 October, an incident that security forces in Giza governorate continue to investigate to ascertain all its details and circumstances.
