AlZarqa Public Works starts offering road tenders for 2026

Khaberni - The Directorate of Public Works of Al-Zarqa Province has started presenting a package of road tenders included in the provincial council's budget for 2026, which has a total value of 1.42 million dinars.
The ministry explained in a statement today, Monday, that this early construction movement comes thanks to the quick response to the requirements of the new year's budget, as the early approval of the general budget law for the fiscal year 2026 has accelerated the technical and administrative procedures for the tendering, ensuring the execution of all projects according to the specified schedules and their complete accomplishment before the end of the current year, and avoiding any delay that circumstances may impose.
It said that the directorate has commenced offering tenders for the construction and improvement of agricultural roads including the Al-Dhleil area for 900 meters, the Al-Azraq area for one kilometer, in addition to the Al-Hashemiya area for 1200 meters, aiming to enhance the infrastructure to serve farmers and citizens in those areas.
It added that the directorate intends to complete offering all the remaining 11 tenders during the current week, which includes major projects for the maintenance of rural and secondary roads valued at 371 thousand dinars, covering scraping, asphalt mixtures, paints, and ground reflectors in the districts of Bireen, Al-Dhleil, and Al-Hashemiya, with total lengths exceeding 5 kilometers.
The ministry indicated that the directorate allocated 325 thousand dinars for the maintenance and rehabilitation of vital roads, including the main Al-Hashemiya road, the Mafraq - Al-Zarqa highway, and the main Kho road, with special attention to the rehabilitation of the central island of the Al-Hashemiya road, installing Kendrin stone, and backfilling it with red soil.
It pointed out that the directorate has put radical solutions to the problems of rainwater drainage in the "hot spots," through the implementation of a water drainage project on Al-Jaysh Street at Al-Awadat triangle, parallel to allocating 117 thousand dinars for traffic safety works, which will include the implementation of standard speed bumps and the installation of metal barriers and ground reflectors at various locations in the province, to enhance the safety level for road users.
