Khaberni - Representative lawyer Awni Al-Zu'bi stated that the water issue in Jordan is no longer just administrative negligence but a costly approach that citizens pay for twice, in summer and in winter.
During a parliamentary monitoring session on Monday, Al-Zu'bi questioned the presence of the Minister of Water and Irrigation in this scenario, pointing out that he seems to be living in an ivory tower, far from reality.
He also stated that he does not hear any real plans from the ministry for building new dams or expanding the existing ones, and removing the deposits that consume the storage capacities of the dams.
He clarified that what happened in the provinces during the last two depressions showed poor infrastructure and overlapping responsibilities without accountability.
